What Is Fomo, and Is It an Exchange?
Fomo is a social crypto trading app, on mobile and web, built around buying tokens including memecoins. (source: fomo.family (home page), no date shown) The App Store lists the developer as FOMO Labs, Inc., rates the app 18+ and names Solana, Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, Base, Ethereum and Monad as the chains you can trade on. (source: Fomo on the App Store, listing showed version 1.94.2)
It is not a centralized exchange. Fomo's own pages say it is non-custodial: the wallet is generated and managed by Privy, a third-party wallet provider. (source: Fomo Terms of Service, effective 17 August 2026) (source: Fomo Q&A: is the app safe, dated 8 February 2026) So the five exchanges we compare (Bitget, Gate.io, MEXC, Bybit and OKX) are a different kind of product, and their codes are on our referral codes page.
How to Use the Code, Step by Step
- Open the invite link. Use fomo.family/r/usemycode on the phone or browser you will sign up on. Fomo's affiliate page says invite links take the
fomo.family/r/nameform. (source: Fomo Affiliate Program page, no date shown) - Create your account. Fomo's guides say you can sign up with an email address or an Apple ID. (source: Fomo guide: deposits and withdrawals, dated 25 December 2025) (source: Fomo guide: how to buy meme coins, dated 6 February 2026)
- Enter the code if Fomo asks for one. Type
usemycode. The Fomo pages we read do not describe a code field or say whether opening the link fills the code in for you, so we can't tell you where it appears. Look for it during sign-up, and check that the discount shows in the app before you trade. - Fund the account. Fomo lists Apple Pay, a debit card, or a crypto deposit (USDC, on the supported networks only). (source: Fomo guide: deposits and withdrawals, dated 25 December 2025)
- Buy a token. Fomo says buying takes one tap once the account is funded. (source: Fomo guide: how to buy meme coins, dated 6 February 2026)
- Read the fee before you confirm. Fomo's terms say the fee varies by trade, so trust the total the app shows you, not a rule of thumb.
How the 10% Works, and What It Doesn't Do
The 10% is 10% off the fee, not 10% off the trade and not 10% back on your profits. The card we saw reads “10% off fees with code usemycode”. It is Fomo's own offer, and the public Fomo pages we read do not mention it, so we can't tell you:
- how long it lasts, or whether it applies to every trade;
- whether it covers every product, including leveraged perpetual futures;
- whether you can add the code after your account exists. Fomo's pages do not say, so open the link before you register.
Fomo's terms say it can change or cancel its referral program at any time, with or without notice, and that self-referral is not allowed. (source: Fomo Terms of Service, effective 17 August 2026) The 20% give-back we describe for the five exchanges does not apply to Fomo: that one is set in those exchanges' own affiliate panels, and Fomo's 10% is the only discount described on this page.
What Fomo Publishes About Its Fees
Fomo does not publish one flat fee. Here is everything the pages we read say, with the source next to each line.
| Item | What Fomo says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Buying and selling | Fomo charges a fee on buy and sell transactions. It depends on the size and type of the transaction, the token and how the trade is routed. No percentage is published in the pages we read. | Fomo Terms of Service |
| Perpetual futures | 0.05% per transaction, plus third-party protocol fees. These are leveraged products (see the risks below). | Fomo Terms of Service |
| Costs Fomo does not control | Liquidity pool fees and network (gas) fees, which Fomo says it neither charges, receives nor controls. | Fomo Terms of Service |
| Gas | Fomo's fee Q&A describes a straightforward percentage fee with gas included and the total cost shown upfront. Its terms say network fees can still arise, so check the total in the app. | Fomo Q&A: trading fees; Fomo Terms of Service |
| Fee discount with our code | 10% off fees with code usemycode. | Fomo's in-app invite card, 30 September 2026 |
Read on 30 September 2026 from the Fomo pages linked in the table (Terms effective 17 August 2026; Q&A dated 8 February 2026). Fomo sets its fees and can change them; we do not.
Money leaves Fomo two ways, per its guides: a crypto withdrawal to a wallet address, or a bank withdrawal that is not supported in every region. (source: Fomo guide: deposits and withdrawals, dated 25 December 2025) A Fomo Q&A says bank withdrawals arrive within 3 business days and that first withdrawals may need extra verification. (source: Fomo Q&A: withdrawals, dated 8 February 2026)
Risks to Know Before You Trade
- Memecoins are speculative. Fomo's own guide calls them high-volatility, sentiment-driven assets where sharp crashes are normal. You can lose everything you put in. (source: Fomo guide: how to buy meme coins, dated 6 February 2026)
- You hold the keys. The terms say the wallet is non-custodial and you alone are responsible for safeguarding access, and that Fomo is not responsible for the security of your assets. (source: Fomo Terms of Service, effective 17 August 2026) Fomo's own advice is to use unique passwords, enable 2FA where available, check the URL you are on and start with small amounts; it also says no platform is immune to every risk. (source: Fomo Q&A: is the app safe, dated 8 February 2026) Our security checklist covers habits that matter here too.
- Leverage can cost more than you put in. Fomo's terms say perpetual futures can lose more than your initial margin and positions can be liquidated without notice. (source: Fomo Terms of Service, effective 17 August 2026)
- Fomo is not a regulated adviser. The terms say Fomo is not registered with or licensed by any regulatory authority and does not give financial advice. Neither do we: this page is not investment advice.
- Eligibility. You must be 18 or of legal age to contract, and residents of some places (the terms name Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Sudan, Venezuela and Yemen, among others) cannot use it. Using a VPN to get around this is prohibited. (source: Fomo Terms of Service, effective 17 August 2026)

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a Fomo referral code?
Yes. The code on coinport's invite link is usemycode. Fomo's in-app invite card, checked 30 September 2026, says it gives 10% off fees. Open https://fomo.family/r/usemycode before you create your account.
How much does the Fomo referral code save?
10% off Fomo's trading fees, per Fomo's invite card. It is a cut of the fee, not of the trade amount, and Fomo publishes no single fee percentage for spot trades, so check the fee the app shows before you confirm. The pages we read do not say how long the discount lasts.
Can I add a Fomo referral code after I sign up?
Fomo's pages that we read do not say. To be safe, open the invite link https://fomo.family/r/usemycode before you create your account rather than after.
Is Fomo an exchange, and does the coinport fee discount for exchanges apply?
No to both. Fomo is a non-custodial trading app, not a centralized exchange, and the 20% lower fees we pass back on Bitget, Gate.io, MEXC, Bybit and OKX links do not apply to it. Fomo's own 10% is the only discount described here.
Is Fomo available in my country?
Fomo's terms (effective 17 August 2026) require you to be 18 or of legal age to form a contract and exclude residents of several places, including Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Sudan, Venezuela and Yemen, plus places under US, UK or EU embargoes or crypto restrictions. Using a VPN to get around this is prohibited. Read the terms for your own situation.
Is Fomo safe?
Fomo says its wallet is non-custodial and made by Privy, and its terms put responsibility for safeguarding access on you. Its own safety page says no platform is immune to all risks, and the page we read mentions no security audit. Memecoins are highly volatile and you can lose everything, so start small and never trade money you cannot afford to lose. This is not investment advice.
